The goal is to support couples committed to building a lasting marriage through equipping them with the skills necessary to navigate these important relationships.  Topics covered include strengthening  connections, managing different personality types, building a common purpose, merging finances, taking care of each other, staying healthy in relationship, communicating effectively and getting out of conflict.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND MARRIAGE PREP

This program is open to couples in a committed relationship, couples preparing for engagement, couples engaged or couples newly married. 

 

PRIVATE FORMAT:

5 Private 1-hour Sessions for You and Your Partner, arranged according to your schedule.  General topics will be covered but since it's just for you, more focus will be on areas of specific concern or interest.  

 

COST: 

$900 per couple for the 5 session series ($180 per hour) 

+$29USD Scoring Fee for the Gottman Relationship CheckUp (Paid online before completing the assessment)

Gottman Relationship CheckUp, an online assessment tool that scores the couples strengths and challenges is used in the context of Marriage Prep. (For more information visit www.gottman.com)

This clinical tool consists of 480 questions about friendship, intimacy, how well you know your partner, how you manage emotions and conflict, how you share your values and goals, and what gives meaning to your lives. There are additional questions about parenting, housework, finances, trust, and individual areas of concern.

Psychologists' fees are not covered by Alberta Health Care, but they are covered by many employee benefit plans.  This goes for Marriage Prep as well, just check how much coverage you and your partner have for a Psychologist.
